A good, non-flammable film cleaner but it has a high evaporation rate and so cleans less film for a given volume than other substances. The high solvent power produces a tendency to attack the plasticiser. If it is used it must be only fleetingly and with care. Inhalation of vapours apparently produces carbon monoxide in the bloodstream and it is therefore highly poisonous.
