There are two modern types of perforations used. Perforations that are used for the positive copies to be projected, have larger dimensions than camera film and can therefore be used on less precise equipment.
Intermediate materials for duplicating or making intermediates images sometimes also used these "positive perforations" or KS [Kodak Standard] perforations when they are printed on contact printers. Today these intermediates materials are all manufactured with "negative perforations" unless specially ordered.
