FAOL's Training Area has
been designed to guide you through the most important phases of film
restoration process.
As you will see, each Section
is designed in such a way that you can either have an overall view of the role
and the importance of a certain activity in the film restoration process, or to
really come to know it in full detail. We think that it is quite important for
you to take this opportunity to learn more about all the different phases of
film restoration, so that the job you are doing now, or the one you wish to
undertake, can find its correct position in relationships to the job others are
doing. And so that you know and understand better what is or might be your role
in the laboratory or the Archive. At the same time, we wanted you to feel free
to go deeper into areas and jobs that you might find interesting or important
for you, although you might not be asked to carry them out. So, you always have
the choice to either stop at an overall view, or go into the details of that
specific area.
Also, you must always feel
free to contact us (if your On Line Tutoring Service is activated) in order to
receive directions, or advice on your training or learning process. And even if
you are not taking advantage of the Tutoring Service, we will be happy to have
a feedback from you. Advice, opinions, and information about things you liked
or disliked, or simply that are not clear enough will be helpful to improve
FAOL and to make it even more useful for everybody.
